Passion for Books

The owners, Ann and Malcolm Summers, have lived a life surrounded by books. In Helston, England, they ran a successful bookstore while Malcolm trained in the art of bookbinding. In 2008, they brought their books and skills to Chester, Vermont opening a bookstore and bindery in a historic home in the village of Chester.

The books have moved online but the shop still hosts an impressive full-service bindery. The bindery owns an extensive range of cloths which are now unavailable new. The leathers used are supplied by J. Hewit and Sons Ltd. Edinburgh, Scotland. and are all acid-free.
